Crisp and clean design for posters, flyers, brochures and much more.
I'm no coder, but do have a keen interest in design for web and digital publishing.
I strive for creative solutions with clean typography and a balanced layout.
I’m Vicky, a graphic designer dedicated to precise typography, ensuring a page layout has perfect balance and reaching that tight deadline while still delivering the best creative work. With over five years experience in both print and online design, I give a rounded approach to creative projects.
Here's a selection of the work I have produced.
Capital Insights is a quarterly magazine that Mergermarket produce for EY. We recently went through a redesign which I worked on with the head of design. I lay out pages, create graphics and design charts – working closely with the editorial team.
Concepts for branding of various healthcare events for SB Communications while working at the design agency Optic Juice. The concepts had to link in with the event title, and not look like your typical healthcare branding.
This report was commissioned by Crowe Horwath, produced by the Mergermarket team in New York and designed by myself. Working with the editorial team and the client, a driving theme was decided – showing movement and control. I concentrated on this theme while sourcing the images, and designed a chart style based on a speedometer.
The cover is an important part of any publication - it draws in readers, simply highlighting what the publication is about. I designed the concept for this cover, which simply shows an inward arrow coming into the EU flag of stars. The report was about business coming into Europe from other countries.
My design work for The Mo included posters, adverts and brochures for general marketing use and various summer events. As it was aimed at families and children it challenged my usual style of design. Bright colours, textures and illustrations matched the museums new logo, and brought a fun hands-on feel to the materials. I sourced the textures online, the photography was supplied by the museum and the illustrations were hand-drawn by myself.
During my last year at university I did a four week placement at Times Online. During my time there my web and interactive skills improved a lot, and I got to see how a big website runs from day to day. I mainly created web banners (static and animated), headers and buttons for articles.
An area I am always looking to improve is my creative process and concepts. These are some ideas for a new part of the SB Communications portfolio - Diabetes on the Net.
During my time as a freelancer I was approached to do a concept for St Peters Brewery website. The idea behind the design is to make the site look like a warm and friendly pub, with all of the St Peters Brewery ales on the shelf waiting to be picked.
For this report named 'Joining forces: The co-investment climate in private equity' I came up with a new design style, away from the brands usual guidelines. I designed striking infographics and used the contrast of black and white imagery against colour to create a dynamic report. The Pepper Hamilton colour pallette and typefaces were still adhered to.
